SW in Maryland said this in a recent complaint about Saxon Mortgage: “Saxon mortgage has been charging me escrow and $35 late fee for the last 2 years even though my financial institution sent them the money in a timely manner and according to my contract I do not have an escrow account. It is now affecting my credit. What can I do to stop them? What are my legal rights?”

BL in Maryland sent this complaint about Saxon Mortgage servicing and Ocwen. The complaint stated “Saxon and Ocwen stole my home of 13 years. To make a long story short, I was in modification, which I could afford. They sent the 3rd payment back. Dragged it on and on. Sold the loan to Ocwen, who refused to work with us, unless we paid all legal fees and arrears. I had lost my job. Were they kidding? Then they foreclosed. God Sees All. I am willing to join any lawsuit against them that is available. They actually benefit on foreclosing on the less fortunate.”

While I wrote for the Household-HSBC Watch website I picked up on money laundering issues. The terrorist aspect came from Iraq at that time. As with any problem it is always nice when probes and investigations produce results. Now, in late November 2011, we can report that the OCC finally took action.

Many americans are glad credit card statements are easier to read. New credit card laws greatly diminished abuses by banks. One such offender was (is) HSBC and HSBC merchants.

If the Occupy Wall Street protesters want to target a single big bank, which should they choose? One bank – HSBC – took huge losses after buying predatory lender Household International. HSBC, headquartered in London, is not on this list.
